🌟 5 WSC Picks: Slow Living, Radical Rest, and Soothing Sounds

Monday, July 15th

🍬 If you’re curious about slow living, radical rest and soothing the senses, here are five gems to get you started.

  1.  The Tortoise with Brooke McAlary. 🐢

Brooke and her partner Ben are the most delightful hosts in this podcast on slow living. Every episode is centered around a slow-living adjacent topic and what it means to them. From self-care, joyful living, to social media, and mental load - your bound to find a topic here that resonates with you. Best of all, Brooke and Ben are relatable, honest, and kind; their conversations add a gentleness and easiness to our day.

  2. Rest Easy by Ximena Vengoechea. 📚

Ximena’s book helped us internalize what it means to find calm and abundance through the radical power of rest. We love how Ximena offers techniques that are silly easy to implement, science backed, and grounded in a lot of -ologies (anthropology, sociology, psychology). We bought this book for the absolutely delightful doodles, and stayed for the relatable anecdotes and practical techniques.

  3. Healthy Rich by Dana Miranda. 🗞️

A financial wellness newsletter we didn’t know we needed. Dana’s revolutionary insights on why you don’t need a budget is both liberating and illuminating. We love how Dana says what we’re thinking, like “I want more money, an inconvenient truth for an anti-capitalist.” and provides thoughtful writings and suggestions along the way.

  4. Sounds of the Ocean on Spotify. 🌊

Sometimes white noise is just not enough. Sounds of crashing waves adds a little edge without being too distracting. When heading to the beach is not feasible, this feels like the next-best alternative.

  5. Inktally on IG. ✨

Natalie Muir’s artwork is beautiful and inspiring. We have written down her quotes on post-it notes, and oogled over her gorgeous designs. If you like geometry, gradients, astrology, and mystical quotes - Natalie’s work is for you.
